   Power Off the Phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to shut down the device completely.

   Eject the SIM Card Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then pull it out entirely.

   Apply Heat to Back Cover

   Use a heat gun or iOpener around the perimeter of the back cover for 2 minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

   Attach Suction Handle

   Place a suction handle near the bottom edge of the back panel and press firmly to create a seal.

   Slice Back Cover Adhesive

   Pull up on the suction handle to create a gap, then insert a plastic opening pick between the back cover and the frame.

   Remove Back Cover

   Slide the pick around all four edges to release the adhesive, then lift off the back cover completely.

   Unscrew Lower Speaker Module

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the seven screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing.

   Remove Speaker Module

   Insert a spudger under the edge of the loudspeaker assembly and pry it up to remove it from the phone.

   Unscrew Upper Motherboard Cover

   Remove the Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic motherboard protective bracket at the top of the device.

    Remove Motherboard Cover

    Lift the motherboard bracket off the frame to gain access to the battery press connector.

    Disconnect the Battery Cable

    Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery flex cable straight up from its motherboard socket.

    Disconnect Interconnect Flex Cable

    Pry up the lower connector of the main interconnect flex cable from the charging port daughterboard.

    Unclip Antenna Coaxial Cable

    Use tweezers to gently unclip the black antenna coaxial cable from the charging port sub-board.

    Pry Up Faulty Charging Port Board

    Gently insert a spudger under the edge of the charging port board and lift it out of the chassis recess.

    Insert New Charging Port Board

    Align the replacement charging port board into the lower housing slot and press it flat into position.

    Reconnect Interconnect and Antenna Cables

    Snap the main flex cable connector and the coaxial antenna cable header firmly onto the new daughterboard.

    Reconnect Battery Cable

    Press the battery flex connector straight down onto the motherboard terminal until it clicks.

    Reinstall Brackets and Speaker Module

    Place the upper motherboard bracket and lower speaker module back into position, then secure all Phillips #00 screws.

    Apply Back Cover Adhesive

    Clean remaining adhesive off the frame with isopropyl alcohol and apply fresh custom adhesive strips along the perimeter.

    Press Back Cover into Place

    Align the rear cover with the frame and press firmly along all edges to secure the adhesive bond.

    Reinsert SIM Card Tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left frame until flush with the body.
