   Power off device

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely powered down before beginning.

   Remove back cover

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the notch at the bottom edge of the phone. Pry upward to unclip the rear cover and lift it off.

   Remove battery

   Insert a plastic opening tool into the recess at the bottom of the battery. Lift the battery up and remove it from the phone.

   Eject cards

   Slide out any installed SIM card and microSD card from their respective slots. Place them in a safe location.

   Unscrew midframe

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the plastic midframe. Keep track of each screw for reassembly.

   Detach midframe

   Insert a plastic opening pick between the midframe and the outer bezel. Pry around the perimeter to release the clips and remove the midframe.

   Disconnect display cable

   Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pry up the display flex cable press connector from the motherboard.

   Unscrew motherboard

   Remove the single Phillips #00 screw securing the motherboard to the phone chassis.

   Remove motherboard

   Gently tilt the motherboard up from the bottom edge and lift it out of the frame assembly. Place it safely on an anti-static surface.

    Heat display adhesive

    Use a heat gun or hairdryer on low heat to warm the front glass edges for two minutes. This softens the underlying adhesive.

    Attach suction cup

    Press a suction cup onto the lower half of the display assembly. Ensure a firm seal against the glass surface.

    Slice screen adhesive

    Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap and insert an opening pick under the glass. Slide the pick around all four edges to cut through the adhesive.

    Remove damaged screen

    Carefully lift the display screen off the frame while feeding the flex cable through the slot in the chassis.

    Clean frame adhesive

    Scrape away leftover adhesive residue and glass fragments from the frame perimeter. Clean the housing edges thoroughly using isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply new adhesive

    Place pre-cut double-sided display adhesive strips along the perimeter frame. Peel off the protective film backing.

    Mount new display

    Thread the display cable of the new screen through the frame slot. Align the screen carefully and press it firmly into place.

    Reinstall motherboard

    Position the motherboard back into the frame top-first. Reinstall the Phillips #00 screw to hold the motherboard in place.

    Reconnect display flex

    Align and press the display flex cable connector straight down onto its motherboard socket until it clicks.

    Reattach midframe

    Align the plastic midframe over the body chassis. Press around all edges until all plastic tabs snap into place.

    Secure midframe screws

    Reinstall all midframe screws securely using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

    Reinsert battery and cards

    Slide your SIM card and microSD card back into their slots, then insert the battery into the compartment.

    Snap on back cover

    Place the plastic back cover over the rear of the phone and press around the perimeter until all clips click shut.
