   Power Off the Device

   Press and hold the power button on the right edge of your Moto G5, then select 'Power off' on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Remove the Back Cover

   Insert a plastic opening tool into the notch on the bottom edge of the back cover. Gently pry upward to release the clips securing the cover and lift it away.

   Remove the Battery

   Insert your fingernail or a plastic spudger into the notch at the bottom of the battery compartment. Lift the battery up and remove it from the phone frame.

   Remove SIM and MicroSD Cards

   Slide out any installed Nano-SIM card and microSD card from their respective slots above the battery compartment. Set them aside safely on an anti-static mat.

   Unscrew the Midframe

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the plastic midframe to the phone chassis. Keep track of each screw for reassembly.

   Detach the Plastic Midframe

   Insert a plastic opening tool along the seam between the midframe and the display assembly. Pry around the perimeter to release the plastic clips and remove the midframe.

   Disconnect the Interconnect Cable

   Use the flat end of a spudger to pry straight up on the press-fit connector of the main flex cable attached to the lower daughterboard.

   Disconnect the Antenna Coaxial Cable

   Use precision tweezers to carefully lift the antenna coaxial cable head straight off its connector on the lower daughterboard.

   Unscrew the Lower Daughterboard

   Locate and remove the single Phillips screw securing the lower daughterboard (micro-USB and microphone board) to the bottom frame.

    Remove the Damaged Daughterboard

    Gently wedge a plastic opening tool underneath the lower daughterboard and pry it out from the phone chassis. Handle the board carefully to avoid flexing it.

    Transfer the Rubber Microphone Boot

    Use tweezers to remove the small rubber boot from the microphone port on the old board. Slide this rubber boot onto the microphone port of the replacement daughterboard.

    Position the New Daughterboard

    Place the new lower daughterboard into the bottom slot of the phone frame, making sure the primary microphone aligns perfectly with its cutout.

    Secure the Daughterboard Screw

    Reinsert and tighten the single Phillips screw to firmly secure the new daughterboard to the chassis.

    Reconnect the Antenna Coaxial Cable

    Position the antenna cable connector directly over its socket on the daughterboard and press down gently with a spudger until it snaps into place.

    Reconnect the Interconnect Flex Cable

    Align the main flex cable connector over its socket on the daughterboard and press down firmly on one side, then the other, until it clicks.

    Snap the Midframe into Place

    Align the plastic midframe cover over the back of the phone. Press firmly around the edges until all retaining clips snap securely into place.

    Fasten the Midframe Screws

    Drive all Phillips #00 screws back into the midframe until snug, ensuring even pressure across the entire frame.

    Reinstall Battery and Back Cover

    Reinsert your SIM and MicroSD cards, align the battery contacts and seat the battery, then snap the back cover firmly back onto the chassis.
