   Power off device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to shut down the phone completely.

   Remove rear cover

   Insert a fingernail or plastic opening tool into the notch at the bottom edge of the phone and pry the rear shell off.

   Remove battery

   Lift the removable battery out of its recess from the bottom edge notch using your finger or a spudger.

   Remove SIM and SD cards

   Slide out any installed nano-SIM and microSD cards from their respective slots.

   Unscrew internal midframe

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic midframe to the phone chassis.

   Pry off midframe

   Insert a plastic prying tool along the seam of the midframe and unclip it around all sides to remove it.

   Disconnect display flex cable

   Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pop the display connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

   Gently pry the antenna cable head straight up off its motherboard terminal using fine tweezers.

   Remove motherboard screws

   Remove the remaining Phillips screws holding the motherboard assembly to the display frame.

    Carefully lift the motherboard out of the front housing, paying attention to any snagged cables.

    Apply flux to charging port pads

    Apply a liberal amount of liquid or paste flux to the micro-USB port's mounting legs and electrical pins.

    Desolder anchor legs

    Apply a hot soldering iron tip along with desoldering braid to each of the four anchor points to remove old solder.

    Desolder micro-USB pins

    Gently sweep the iron tip across the fine pins with desoldering braid to soak up excess solder.

    Remove old charging port

    Gently heat the remaining solder joints while lifting the damaged micro-USB port off the motherboard using tweezers.

    Clean motherboard pads

    Clean remaining solder from the contact pads using wick, then wipe the area with isopropyl alcohol.

    Position replacement charging port

    Align the new micro-USB port's anchor legs and rear pins precisely over the motherboard pads.

    Solder replacement port in place

    Solder the structural anchor legs first, then carefully solder each signal pin using a fine iron tip.

    Reinstall motherboard

    Lower the motherboard back into the display casing and press down gently until it seats properly.

    Reconnect internal connections

    Snap the display flex connector back onto the motherboard and reattach the coaxial antenna cable.
