   Eject the SIM Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole on the top edge of the phone to eject the card tray. Pull the tray completely out of the device.

   Heat the Display Perimeter

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the screen for two minutes to soften the display adhesive. Keep the heat source moving constantly to avoid scorching the panel.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the upper half of the display panel near the speaker slit. Pull upward with steady pressure to create a small gap between the glass and the body frame.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Slide a plastic opening pick directly into the gap created by the suction cup. Leave the pick in place to prevent the adhesive from re-adhering.

   Slice Screen Adhesive

   Carefully slide the opening pick around the entire outer perimeter of the glass to slice through the adhesive seal. Take extra care around the lower bezel near the fingerprint sensor.

   Lift the Screen Assembly

   Gently hinge the top of the display assembly upward, lifting it like a book cover. Do not pull the screen away entirely yet, as delicate flex cables remain attached at the bottom.

   Remove Bracket Screws

   Locate the metal shield securing the screen flex cables near the top center. Remove the two Phillips #000 screws holding the shield in place.

   Detach Display Cable

   Use tweezers to lift off the metal bracket. Pry the display flex connector straight up from its socket on the motherboard using a plastic spudger.

   Disconnect Fingerprint Reader

   Use the pointed end of a spudger to gently pop the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector from the motherboard.

    Remove Midframe Screws

    Unscrew the 19 Phillips #000 screws securing the plastic midframe assembly to the internal chassis. Set the screws aside in a organized container.

    Pry Off Plastic Midframe

    Insert a spudger into the notch on the side of the midframe to release the plastic clips. Lift the midframe assembly away from the phone body.

    Disconnect Battery Connector

    Pry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard to disable power to the device.

    Disconnect Antenna Cable

    Use fine tweezers to pop the coaxial antenna cable head off the lower daughterboard connector.

    Unscrew Lower Daughterboard

    Remove the single Phillips #000 screw securing the lower microphone assembly board to the phone housing.

    Remove Defective Microphone Board

    Gently wedge a plastic prying tool beneath the edge of the microphone assembly board and lift it out of the bottom cavity.

    Set Replacement Microphone Board

    Place the new replacement microphone assembly board into the bottom recessed area, aligning it with the mounting screw hole and rubber microphone gasket.

    Secure Daughterboard Screw

    Reinstall the single Phillips #000 screw onto the lower board to fasten the new microphone assembly in place.

    Reconnect Antenna Cable

    Align the antenna coaxial cable connector over its motherboard contact and press down firmly until it snaps into place.

    Reattach Midframe and Battery

    Snap the battery connector back into place, re-align the plastic midframe, and reinstall the 19 midframe screws securely.

    Attach Screen and Seal

    Reconnect the screen and fingerprint reader cables, install their metal bracket, apply new perimeter adhesive, and press the display down firmly to seal.
