   Power Off the Phone

   Press and hold the Power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before starting.

   Remove SIM Card Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the side of the phone. Push firmly to eject the tray and pull it out.

   Heat the Back Panel

   Apply a heat gun or iOpener around the perimeter of the rear panel for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the back cover to the frame.

   Apply Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower portion of the back panel. Pull gently upward to create a small gap between the panel and the frame.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Take care not to insert it deeper than 3 millimeters.

   Slice the Back Cover Adhesive

   Slide the pick carefully around all four edges of the back panel to cut through the adhesive. Reapply heat if the adhesive becomes tough to slice.

   Remove the Back Cover

   Lift the rear cover away from the device frame once all adhesive is free. Set the back panel aside in a clean area.

   Unscrew Lower Speaker Cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws holding down the lower speaker assembly shield. Keep track of all removed screws.

   Pry Up Speaker Module

   Insert the flat edge of a spudger beneath the speaker module notch. Gently lift and remove the speaker housing from the bottom of the phone.

    Disconnect Interconnect Flex Cable

    Use a spudger to pry straight up on the press-fit connector linking the main interconnect flex cable to the sub-board.

    Disconnect Coaxial Antenna Cable

    Gently pry up the coaxial antenna cable connector from the sub-board using fine tweezers or a spudger.

    Remove Damaged Sub-Board

    Pry gently beneath the edge of the sub-board with a spudger to release it from the chassis. Lift the sub-board, which houses the primary microphone, out of the phone.

    Transfer Rubber Microphone Seal

    Check the old sub-board for a small rubber microphone gasket. If present, use tweezers to move it onto the microphone port of the new sub-board.

    Insert Replacement Sub-Board

    Align the new sub-board with the bottom compartment of the frame and press it flush into place.

    Connect Antenna Cable

    Snap the coaxial antenna cable connector directly onto its socket on the new sub-board until it clicks.

    Connect Interconnect Flex Cable

    Align the interconnect flex cable header over its socket on the sub-board and press down firmly until it snaps into place.

    Reinstall Speaker Module

    Place the speaker assembly back over the sub-board and align it with the screw posts.

    Secure Speaker Screws

    Reinstall the Phillips screws to secure the speaker module to the lower chassis.

    Reattach Back Cover

    Apply new adhesive strips along the perimeter frame, align the back panel, and press firmly along the edges to seal the phone.
