   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button on the right edge of the phone. Select the Power Off option on the screen and wait for the device to shut down completely.

   Remove the rear cover

   Insert a plastic opening pick or nail into the notch at the bottom edge near the charging port. Gently lever the plastic rear cover up and peel it away from the phone body.

   Eject SIM and microSD cards

   Slide out any installed SIM card and microSD card from their respective card slots above the battery compartment. Set them aside in a safe spot.

   Unscrew the midframe panel

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all 20 screws securing the inner plastic midframe to the phone frame. Keep track of screws as they are uniform in size.

   Pry off the midframe

   Insert a plastic spudger into the seam along the edge of the plastic midframe. Carefully pry around the perimeter until the midframe unclips and lift it away.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Locate the battery flex connector near the top right of the battery. Use the flat edge of a spudger to gently snap the connector straight up from the motherboard.

   Remove the battery

   Insert a flat plastic spudger underneath the battery to break the light adhesive beneath it. Carefully pry the battery up and remove it from the recess.

   Disconnect the display cable

   Locate the display ZIF ribbon cable connector on the lower motherboard. Use tweezers or a spudger tip to flip up the locking flap and pull the ribbon cable out.

   Heat the front glass perimeter

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the outer edges of the front screen for 2 minutes. Keep the heat source moving constantly to prevent damaging internal components.

    Attach suction cup

    Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower third of the cracked glass screen assembly. Ensure a tight seal to create sufficient lifting leverage.

    Insert plastic opening pick

    Pull up gently on the suction cup ring to create a small gap between the glass screen and the frame. Insert a plastic opening pick into the seam.

    Slice the display adhesive

    Slide the plastic pick along the left, top, and right edges of the front assembly to cut through the display adhesive. Take care around the top speaker area.

    Remove the damaged screen

    Slowly pivot the top edge of the screen assembly away from the frame. Carefully guide the lower display flex cable through the slot in the frame as you remove the glass.

    Clean the inner frame

    Use tweezers and a spudger to scrape away all residual adhesive and loose glass splinters from the aluminum frame ledge. Clean the frame rim using isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply frame adhesive

    Lay down double-sided adhesive strips along all four edges of the clean frame perimeter. Peel off the protective film backing on the adhesive.

    Feed flex cable through frame

    Take the replacement screen assembly and thread its ribbon cable carefully through the cutout slot in the lower section of the phone frame.

    Press new screen into place

    Align the replacement display with the outer frame edges and lower it evenly onto the adhesive. Press gently around the perimeter to seat the adhesive securely.

    Reconnect the display cable

    Insert the display ribbon cable end back into its motherboard ZIF connector. Press the plastic locking flap down to clamp the cable securely in place.

    Reinstall the battery

    Place the battery back into its housing recess and press down firmly. Snap the battery flex connector straight down onto the motherboard terminal until it clicks.

    Reattach the midframe panel

    Position the plastic midframe over the motherboard assembly and snap the edges down. Reinstall all 20 Phillips #00 screws to secure the midframe panel.

    Snap back cover into place

    Reinsert the SIM card and microSD card into their respective slots. Align the plastic back cover with the body and press down around the edges until all clips snap shut.
