Step-by-step
- 1
Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

Remove the rear cover
2 minInsert a plastic opening tool into the notch at the bottom edge near the charging port to unclip and remove the back cover.

Remove the SIM card
1 minSlide the SIM card out of its tray slot using your thumb or a pair of blunt tweezers.

Remove the microSD card
1 minGently press and slide the microSD card out of its slot if one is installed.

Unscrew the top midframe screws
3 minUse a T3 Torx screwdriver to remove seven screws along the top portion of the inner plastic frame.

Unscrew the lower midframe screws
4 minRemove the remaining twelve T3 Torx screws securing the perimeter and lower section of the midframe.

Detach the midframe assembly
2 minPry around the outer edge of the inner midframe with a plastic spudger to release the plastic clips holding it to the frame.

Disconnect the battery cable
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to gently pry up the battery press connector directly off the motherboard socket.

Soak the battery adhesive
2 minApply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the left and right edges of the battery well.

Pry out the battery
3 minSlide a plastic opening pick under the bottom edge of the battery and carefully lever it up away from the chassis.

Clean residual adhesive
2 minWipe away remaining adhesive strips inside the battery compartment using a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

Apply new adhesive strips
2 minPeel the backing off new precut battery adhesive strips and press them firmly into the battery recess.

Install the replacement battery
2 minAlign the replacement battery in the well and press down firmly to set it against the fresh adhesive.

Attach the battery connector
1 minPosition the battery flex cable over its motherboard socket and press straight down until it snaps into place.

Reattach the midframe
2 minLower the inner midframe housing over the chassis and press along the edges until all retaining clips snap shut.

Secure all midframe screws
4 minReinstall all nineteen T3 Torx screws around the midframe to firmly lock it back into place.

Reinsert cards and back cover
2 minSlide your SIM and microSD cards back into their slots, then press the outer back cover firmly onto the phone.
