   Power off device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Remove back cover

   Insert a plastic prying tool into the notch at the bottom corner of the back cover. Gently pry around the edges to unclip and remove the cover.

   Eject SIM card tray

   Remove any installed SIM cards and MicroSD cards from their respective slots.

   Unscrew midframe screws

   Use a precision Torx T3 screwdriver to remove the 19 screws securing the inner midframe assembly.

    Use tweezers to unclip the coaxial antenna cable connector near the bottom of the motherboard.

    Carefully pry under the edges of the motherboard with a spudger and remove it from the phone frame.

    Apply liquid flux to port pins

    Apply a liberal amount of soldering flux over the anchor pins and data pins of the broken Micro-USB port.

    Heat port anchor pins

    Use a soldering iron or heat tool to apply heat to the anchor posts until the solder melts.

    Remove old charging port

    Grasp the damaged charging port with tweezers and gently lift it off the board once the solder melts completely.

    Clean motherboard solder pads

    Apply desoldering braid and your iron tip over the pads to absorb remaining solder and leave clean, flat surfaces.

    Tin new port contacts

    Apply fresh flux and a small amount of solder to the pins of the replacement Micro-USB port.

    Align the replacement Micro-USB port precisely with the solder pads and anchor holes on the motherboard.
