Power off phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap 'Power off' on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Remove back cover
2 minInsert a plastic opening tool or fingernail into the notch at the bottom edge of the phone. Gently pry up to unclip and remove the back cover.

Pry out battery
1 minInsert a plastic spudger into the recess at the bottom edge of the battery well. Lift the removable lithium-ion battery up and out of the housing.

Remove SIM and SD cards
1 minSlide out any SIM card or microSD card from their respective slots using your thumb or a precision tool.

Remove midframe screws
4 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 10 screws securing the inner rear midframe to the phone frame.

Pry off rear midframe
3 minInsert a plastic prying tool between the midframe and outer casing near the bottom corner. Run the tool along the edges to release the plastic clips and remove the midframe.

Disconnect display flex cable
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to gently pry up and disconnect the display flex cable from the motherboard.

Unplug speaker module
2 minPry up the lower speaker module connector carefully using fine tweezers or a spudger.

Disconnect antenna cable
2 minUse tweezers to carefully lift the coaxial antenna cable head straight up off its socket on the lower circuit board.

Lift out lower microphone board
3 minInsert the flat tip of a spudger beneath the lower daughterboard housing the microphone. Pry gently to unseat it from the frame adhesive.

Install new microphone module
2 minPosition the replacement microphone daughterboard into the lower housing recess. Press down lightly to adhere it into place.

Reconnect antenna cable
2 minAlign the coaxial antenna connector over its socket on the new board and press down gently until it snaps into place.

Reconnect display flex cable
2 minAlign the display flex connector with its socket on the motherboard and press straight down until it clicks.

Reattach rear midframe
3 minPlace the rear midframe over the phone assembly and press firmly around all edges to engage the plastic retaining clips.

Fasten midframe screws
4 minReinstall the 10 Phillips #00 screws using your screwdriver until snug.

Reinsert battery and cards
2 minSlide your SIM and microSD cards back into their slots, then align and press the battery into its bay.

Snap on back cover
2 minAlign the rear cover with the phone chassis and press around the perimeter until all snaps lock securely into place.
