Step-by-step

Power off the phone
1 minHold down the Power button on the right edge and select Power Off on the screen.

Disconnect external cables

Locate the rear cover notch
1 minFind the small opening notch at the bottom corner of the back cover.

Pry open the rear cover

Lift away the back cover

Lift out the old battery

Inspect the connector pins

Clean the battery terminals
2 minDampen a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol and gently wipe the gold contact spring pins.

Prepare the replacement battery
1 minUnpack the new GK40 battery and remove any protective plastic film covering its contact pads.

Insert the new battery
1 minAlign the gold contacts of the new battery with the pins in the top of the compartment and press down.

Snap the rear cover on
2 minAlign the back cover over the phone body and press firmly along all edges until every clip snaps shut.

Perform initial charge cycle
