   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to completely turn off the phone.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the frame to release and remove the SIM card tray.

   Heat the rear cover

   Apply a heat gun or heated iOpener along the perimeter of the back panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower half of the rear panel and pull upward to create a tiny gap along the bottom seam.

   Insert an opening pick

   Push a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created between the back panel and the frame.

   Slice the rear adhesive

   Slide the pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the perimeter adhesive seal.

   Remove the rear cover

   Carefully lift the rear cover straight off the chassis and lay it aside on a clean surface.

   Unscrew motherboard cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic motherboard shield.

   Detach upper shield

   Insert the flat end of a spudger under the motherboard shield and gently pry it up to remove it.

    Disconnect the battery

    Pry the battery press connector directly upward from its socket on the motherboard using a plastic spudger.

    Unscrew speaker module

    Remove the Phillips screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly to the phone chassis.

    Remove speaker module

    Pry up the lower speaker housing with a spudger and set it aside to gain clear access to the lower battery edge.

    Soak battery adhesive

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the sides of the battery to loosen the glue.

    Pull adhesive stretch-tabs

    Grasp the pull-tabs at the bottom of the battery with tweezers and pull them slowly outward parallel to the phone.

    Pry out old battery

    Slide a flat plastic card beneath the battery to gently lift and detach it from the phone frame.

    Place new battery

    Apply replacement adhesive strips to the battery cavity and press the new battery firmly into place.

    Attach battery connector

    Align the battery flex cable over its motherboard socket and press down until it snaps firmly into place.

    Reinstall plastic covers

    Position the upper motherboard shield and bottom speaker housing, then secure them with their Phillips screws.

    Apply back cover tape

    Clean remaining glue from the frame using isopropyl alcohol and apply a fresh pre-cut adhesive strip.

    Reseal back panel

    Align the back cover over the chassis and press firmly along all edges to seat the adhesive.
