Step-by-step

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge. Push firmly to eject the tray and pull it out.

Heat the back cover
2 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the perimeter of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the back cover and pull upward firmly to create a small gap.

Insert opening pick
2 minSlide a plastic opening pick into the seam between the rear cover and the frame near the bottom edge.

Slice back cover adhesive
4 minSlide the pick completely around all four edges of the device to cut through the perimeter tape.

Lift off the back cover
2 minCarefully lift the rear cover away from the frame and place it aside.

Unscrew lower speaker screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing.

Remove the loudspeaker
2 minPry up the loudspeaker module using a plastic spudger and lift it out of the chassis.

Disconnect interconnect cable
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to gently pop the main flex cable connector off the charging port board.

Disconnect antenna cable
2 minUse precision tweezers to carefully unclip the coaxial antenna cable from its socket on the daughterboard.

Unscrew charging port board
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw holding the charging port board to the frame.

Remove old charging port board
2 minGently lever up the edge of the daughterboard and lift it out of the phone.

Place new charging port board
2 minSet the replacement charging port board into position, ensuring the USB-C port aligns with the bottom frame cutout.

Fasten daughterboard screw
1 minReinstall and tighten the single Phillips #00 screw to lock the new board in place.

Reconnect antenna cable
2 minAlign the coaxial antenna connector over its socket and press down gently until it snaps into place.

Reconnect interconnect cable
1 minPress the main flex cable press connector straight down onto the board socket until it clicks.

Reinstall loudspeaker module
2 minPosition the loudspeaker housing back over the lower board assembly.

Secure loudspeaker screws
3 minReinstall and tighten all Phillips #00 screws securing the loudspeaker assembly.

Apply back cover adhesive
3 minApply new double-sided adhesive strips around the perimeter of the frame.

Press back cover into place
2 minAlign the back cover over the phone and press firmly along all edges to seal the adhesive.

Reinsert SIM tray
1 minPush the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the device until it sits flush.
