   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select the option to completely shut down the device.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the tray hole on the side frame and push gently to pop the tray out.

   Heat the rear panel

   Apply a heat gun or heated pad around the outer edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower portion of the back cover and pull upward to create a slight gap.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide a thin opening pick into the seam created between the back cover and the midframe.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Move the pick around all four edges of the phone to cut through the remaining adhesive tape.

   Lift away the back cover

   Carefully separate the back cover from the body and set it aside.

   Remove midframe screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic midframe and motherboard shield.

   Unclip the midframe

   Insert a plastic pry tool between the frame and midframe, working around the perimeter to release the plastic clips.

    Remove the midframe

    Lift the midframe piece straight off the chassis to expose the motherboard and battery.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use the edge of a plastic spudger to gently pry the battery flex cable connector off its motherboard socket.

    Apply battery adhesive remover

    Place a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery.

    Pull adhesive release tabs

    Locate the exposed clear pull tabs on the battery and pull them slowly at a low angle until the adhesive strips stretch out.

    Pry out the old battery

    Insert a flat plastic card or broad spudger under the battery to gently lift it out from the housing frame.

    Clean the battery cavity

    Wipe away any remaining glue or residue inside the battery well using a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Stick fresh double-sided adhesive strips onto the back of the replacement battery.

    Seat the new battery

    Align the replacement battery into the frame compartment and press down firmly to secure it.

    Connect the battery cable

    Press the battery connector down onto the motherboard terminal until you hear a clear snap.

    Snap the midframe back on

    Position the midframe over the phone assembly and press firmly along the edges until all perimeter clips engage.

    Reinstall midframe screws

    Thread and tighten all Phillips #00 screws back into their respective slots across the midframe.

    Apply back cover adhesive

    Place pre-cut adhesive film or a thin strip of repair tape around the outer perimeter of the phone housing.

    Reattach the back cover

    Align the rear panel properly over the phone frame and apply uniform pressure around all sides to seal it.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Push the SIM tray back into the card slot until it sits flush with the outer frame.
