Step-by-step
- 1
Power off the phone
1 minEnsure the device is completely powered off and do not connect a charger under any circumstances.

Remove the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the phone to pop out the tray.

Heat the back cover edges
2 minApply mild heat around the rear edges using a heat gun or hairdryer for about two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Slice the back cover adhesive
4 minInsert a thin opening pick into the gap between the rear cover and the frame, then slide it around all edges.

Lift off the back cover
2 minCarefully separate the rear plastic panel from the chassis, taking care not to snag the side power button flex cable.

Clean lower sub-board
5 minUnplug and clean the charging port sub-board with isopropyl alcohol to remove moisture from the USB-C port.

Dry all circuit boards
15 minLay the cleaned boards on a lint-free towel and allow them to air dry completely for at least 15 minutes.

Reinstall motherboards and cables
4 minPlace the main motherboard and sub-board back into the chassis, then reattach all flex cables except the battery.
