Step-by-step

Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before starting.

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole beside the card tray. Press firmly to pop out the tray and remove it.

Heat the Rear Cover
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on low setting to warm the back cover edges for two minutes to soften the underlying adhesive.

Attach the Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear panel. Pull gently upward to create a small gap.

Insert an Opening Pick
1 minSlide a plastic opening pick into the gap created between the frame and the rear panel.

Slice the Rear Adhesive
3 minSlide the pick carefully along all four edges to slice through the adhesive securing the back cover.

Lift Off the Rear Cover
1 minGently lift the back cover off the chassis and place it aside safely.

Unscrew Lower Frame Screws
2 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower speaker housing.

Remove the Speaker Module
2 minInsert a plastic spudger under the speaker module edge and pry upward to remove it.

Disconnect the Interconnect Cable
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to gently pop the main flex cable connector off the sub-board.

Disconnect the Antenna Cable
1 minCarefully pry up the coaxial antenna connector from the sub-board using fine tweezers.

Pry Up the Sub-board
2 minGently wedge a spudger under the sub-board containing the integrated microphone and lift it out of the frame.

Position the New Sub-board
2 minSet the replacement sub-board into its slot in the lower chassis, aligning it properly with the frame posts.

Reconnect the Antenna Cable
1 minAlign the coaxial antenna cable connector over its socket on the sub-board and press down firmly until it snaps into place.

Attach the Interconnect Cable
1 minPress the main flex cable connector onto the sub-board until you feel a soft click.

Reinstall the Speaker Module
1 minAlign the speaker module over the sub-board and press down to snap it into place.

Secure the Speaker Module
2 minThread and tighten the Phillips screws to secure the speaker module to the frame.

Apply Back Panel Adhesive
2 minApply fresh double-sided adhesive tape around the perimeter of the internal frame.

Reattach the Rear Cover
