Step-by-step

Turn off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen.

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the phone and pull out the tray.

Heat the back panel
2 minApply heat along the edges of the back cover with a heat gun for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach the suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the back panel and pull up firmly to create a gap.

Slice perimeter adhesive
3 minInsert a plastic prying tool into the gap and slide it around all edges to slice the adhesive.

Remove the back cover
1 minLift the plastic back cover off the phone frame and set it aside.

Unscrew the lower speaker housing
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower loudspeaker assembly.

Remove the loudspeaker assembly
2 minInsert a spudger under the speaker housing and gently lift it out of the chassis.

Disconnect the battery cable
1 minPry up the battery flex connector from the motherboard using a plastic spudger to cut power.

Disconnect the main interboard flex cable
1 minUse a spudger to pop off the lower end of the main flex cable from the charging daughterboard.

Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable
1 minGently lever up the coaxial antenna connector head from the charging daughterboard using tweezers.

Remove daughterboard retaining screws
1 minUnscrew the remaining Phillips #00 screws holding the daughterboard to the lower frame.

Pry up the old daughterboard
2 minInsert a flat spudger beneath the daughterboard and carefully pry it out of the phone recess.

Position the new charging board
2 minPlace the replacement charging daughterboard into the lower frame housing until it lies flush.

Fasten daughterboard screws
1 minReinstall and tighten the Phillips screws to secure the new board in place.

Reconnect the antenna cable
1 minAlign the coaxial antenna head over its socket and press straight down until it snaps into place.

Reconnect the interboard flex cable
1 minSnap the lower main flex cable back onto the replacement daughterboard's press connector.

1 minPress the battery flex connector firmly onto its terminal on the motherboard.

Reinstall the loudspeaker cover
2 minAlign the lower speaker assembly over the daughterboard and press down to snap the tabs in.

Secure speaker housing screws
2 minDrive the Phillips #00 screws back into the loudspeaker assembly until snug.

Reseal the back panel
3 minApply new adhesive around the frame edge, press the back cover into place, and hold firmly for 30 seconds.
