Step-by-step

Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the phone.

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM card slot on the left side and press firmly to eject the tray.

Heat the rear cover
2 minApply heat evenly around the outer edges of the back panel using a heat gun for approximately two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Slice the back cover adhesive
3 minPlace a suction cup on the rear cover, pull upward to create a small gap, and insert an opening pick along the bottom edge.

Unclip and lift the rear cover
3 minSlide the opening pick around all sides to release the plastic clips and adhesive, then carefully lift the cover off.

Remove the loudspeaker screws
2 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly to the housing.

Pry out the loudspeaker assembly
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the loudspeaker module and lift it out of the chassis.

Disconnect the main flex cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to pry up and disconnect the lower interconnect ribbon cable connector from the sub-board.

Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable
2 minCarefully pry up the gold coaxial antenna head from its socket on the lower sub-board using precision tweezers.

Remove the microphone sub-board
2 minGently wedge the spudger under the sub-board containing the integrated primary microphone and lift it out of the phone.

Insert the replacement sub-board
2 minPosition the new microphone sub-board into the bottom frame cavity and press down until it sits flush.

Reconnect the coaxial antenna cable
2 minAlign the antenna connector over its socket on the sub-board and press down gently until it snaps into place.

Reconnect the main flex cable
1 minAlign the ribbon cable connector above the sub-board plug and press down firmly to secure the connection.

Reinstall the loudspeaker assembly
2 minSet the loudspeaker module back into place over the lower section and tighten the Phillips screws.

Reattach the rear cover
3 minApply fresh pre-cut adhesive around the edges, press the rear cover firmly against the frame, and apply pressure along all edges.

Reinsert the SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM tray back into the card slot on the left edge until it clicks flush into the frame.
