   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely shut down before proceeding.

   Remove SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge. Push firmly to pop out the tray and pull it completely out.

   Heat the back cover

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on a low setting to heat the edges of the rear panel for two minutes. This softens the plastic clips and perimeter adhesive.

   Slice back cover adhesive

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam between the back panel and frame near the bottom. Slide the pick around the perimeter to release the plastic clips.

   Detach the back cover

   Gently lift the rear panel off the chassis. Take care around the side power key to avoid snagging internal components.

   Unscrew motherboard cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the plastic motherboard bracket. Keep track of each screw for reassembly.

   Remove motherboard cover

   Insert a spudger under the motherboard shield and gently pry up to release its retaining tabs. Lift the cover off the phone.

   Disconnect the battery flex

   Use a plastic spudger to pop the battery connector straight up off its socket on the motherboard. Always disconnect power before touching other internals.

   Disconnect display flex cable

   Pry up the display and main interconnect flex cables overlaying the battery compartment. Fold the loose cables back out of your way.

    Soak battery adhesive

    Apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol or adhesive remover around the edges of the battery. Allow it to sit for two minutes to weaken the adhesive.

    Pry out old battery

    Slide a flat plastic card or wide spudger underneath the battery from the bottom. Gently pry upward to break the adhesive bond and lift the battery out.

    Clean battery well

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residue inside the battery housing using a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Ensure the surface is completely dry.

    Apply replacement adhesive

    Peel the backing off new double-sided battery adhesive strips and press them firmly onto the battery compartment floor. Remove the top protective film.

    Position new battery

    Align the new battery with the housing and press it firmly into place. Ensure the battery flex cable easily reaches its motherboard socket without tension.

    Reconnect interior cables

    Align and press down on the main interconnect and display flex cable connectors until they click into place. Reconnect the battery flex cable to its socket.

    Reattach motherboard cover

    Place the plastic motherboard cover over the top assembly and press down until it snaps into position. Reinstall all Phillips screws tightly.

    Secure the back cover

    Align the rear panel with the phone frame and press firmly along the edges to snap the internal clips shut.

    Reinsert SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until it sits flush. Turn on the device to test functionality.
