   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then tap 'Power off' on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely shut down before starting.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly to pop the tray out and remove it.

   Heat the rear panel

   Apply heat to the edges of the back cover using a heat gun or hair dryer for about two minutes. Keep the heat source moving constantly to avoid scorching the plastic.

   Attach the suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly near the bottom edge of the back panel. Gently pull upward on the ring to create a small gap between the cover and the frame.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the seam opened by the suction cup. Slice along the bottom edge to sever the adhesive.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Move the pick carefully around the left, right, and top edges of the cover. Take care around the side power key to avoid damaging internal flex cables.

   Remove the rear cover

   Lift the rear panel completely off the chassis. Set it aside on a clean, soft surface.

   Unscrew the loudspeaker cover

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws holding down the bottom loudspeaker housing. Store the screws together safely.

   Pry up the loudspeaker

   Insert a spudger under the lip of the loudspeaker module. Carefully lever the speaker upward to unclip and remove it from the lower frame.

    Disconnect the main flex cable

    Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pry the main interconnect cable connector straight up from the lower sub-board.

    Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable

    Grasp the antenna cable head with tweezers and lift straight up to disconnect it from the sub-board. Do not pull on the wire itself.

    Pry up the sub-board

    Insert a plastic spudger beneath the edge of the lower daughterboard containing the primary microphone. Gently lift and remove the board.

    Clean the microphone port

    Inspect the microphone rubber boot and frame port opening for dust or debris. Use tweezers or compressed air to clear any obstruction.

    Install the new sub-board

    Align the replacement microphone sub-board into its lower recess in the chassis. Press down lightly until it sits flat.

    Reconnect the antenna cable

    Position the tiny coaxial connector directly over its board socket with tweezers. Press down firmly with a spudger until it snaps into place.

    Reconnect the main flex cable

    Align the press-fit flex connector with its socket on the sub-board and press down gently on one side, then the other, until it clicks.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker module

    Place the loudspeaker cover back over the sub-board. Press around the edges until it clips securely into position.

    Secure the loudspeaker screws

    Reinsert and tighten the Phillips #000 screws into the loudspeaker module until snug. Avoid overtightening to prevent stripping the plastic.

    Reattach the rear panel

    Apply replacement adhesive strip or a thin bead of frame glue to the outer frame. Press the back cover down firmly and hold for 30 seconds.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Slide the SIM tray back into the phone frame slot until it sits flush.
