Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge. Push firmly to pop the tray out, then remove it completely.

Heat the rear plastic panel
2 minUse a heat gun on a low setting to warm the outer edges of the rear panel for two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the back cover to the frame.

Attach a suction cup to the back cover
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the rear cover. Pull up gently on the suction cup handle to create a small gap near the edge.

Slice through rear cover adhesive
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slide the pick along all four sides to sever the double-sided adhesive.

Lift the rear cover slightly
1 minGently lift the back cover up from the top edge, taking care not to strain the fingerprint sensor flex cable still connected inside.

Disconnect the fingerprint sensor flex cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector directly up from the motherboard. Set the back cover aside.

Unscrew the midframe Phillips screws
4 minRemove all visible Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic midframe to the phone chassis.

Pry off the plastic midframe
2 minInsert an opening pick between the display frame and midframe outer lip. Pry gently along the perimeter to unclip and remove the midframe.

Disconnect the main battery cable
1 minPry the battery connector straight up from the motherboard using a spudger to cut power to the device.

Disconnect the display flex connector
1 minUse a spudger to unclip the screen's flex cable connector from the daughterboard near the bottom of the device.

Heat the front display panel
3 minApply heat around the front glass perimeter for three minutes to loosen the screen mounting adhesive.

Separate the display assembly from frame
4 minPress a suction cup onto the front glass and pull upward. Slide an opening pick beneath the glass border around all edges to slice through adhesive.

Remove the old screen assembly
2 minLift the damaged display off the frame, carefully feeding the flex cable out through the slot in the frame.

Clean old display adhesive from frame
3 minScrape off residual glue and loose glass fragments from the frame rim using a flat spudger dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

Apply new display adhesive strips
3 minLay fresh double-sided frame adhesive strips precisely along the outer ledges of the clean phone frame.

Feed new screen ribbon cable
1 minThread the flex cable of the replacement display through the designated slot in the front frame.

Press new display into position
2 minAlign the replacement screen carefully with the phone body and press down around the edges to firmly set the adhesive.

Plug in the display flex cable
