Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM ejector tool into the small hole on the upper-left frame and push firmly to eject the tray. Remove the SIM tray completely from the device.

Heat Rear Cover Edges
2 minApply smooth, gentle heat with a heat gun along the perimeter of the rear plastic cover for approximately two minutes. This softens the interior perimeter adhesive.

Create Opening Gap
2 minAttach a suction cup to the lower third of the rear panel and gently lift up. Insert a plastic opening pick into the small seam created between the back panel and the frame.

Unclip Rear Panel
3 minSlide the plastic pick carefully around all edges of the device to disengage the internal plastic clips. Do not pull the back cover away completely yet.

Disconnect Fingerprint Cable
2 minSlightly lift the rear cover and use plastic tweezers to carefully disconnect the fingerprint sensor flex cable from the main board. Set the rear cover aside.

Remove Loudspeaker Screws
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws holding the lower plastic loudspeaker cover in place. Keep screws organized for reassembly.

Pry Off Loudspeaker
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger beneath the edge of the loudspeaker housing. Gently pry upward to release and lift the module off the chassis.

1 minUse the edge of a spudger to pry straight up on the main interconnect flex cable connector attached to the lower sub-board.

Disconnect Antenna Cable
2 minGrasp the metal head of the coaxial antenna cable with fine tweezers and lift straight up to unclip it from the sub-board.

Remove Sub-Board
2 minSlide a flat prying tool beneath the edge of the sub-board containing the integrated primary microphone. Lift and pull the sub-board out of its recess.

Install New Sub-Board
2 minPosition the new microphone sub-board into the bottom chassis recess. Press down gently until it sits completely flush.

Reconnect Antenna Cable
2 minAlign the coaxial antenna cable head precisely over its socket on the new sub-board and press down firmly until it snaps into place.

Reconnect Interconnect Cable
1 minAlign the main interconnect flex connector over the new sub-board plug and press gently until you feel a distinct click.

Reinstall Loudspeaker Assembly
3 minLower the loudspeaker housing back over the sub-board and align the screw holes. Tighten all Phillips #000 screws until snug.

Attach Fingerprint Sensor
2 minHold the rear cover close to the frame and press the fingerprint sensor flex connector back onto its mainboard socket.

Snap Cover and Insert SIM
2 minAlign the rear cover with the device frame and squeeze firmly along the perimeter until all clips lock. Reinsert the SIM card tray.
