Step-by-step

Power Down Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen.

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the phone to remove the SIM card tray.

Heat Back Cover
2 minUse a heat gun on low setting to heat the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower section of the back cover near the USB-C port.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minPull up gently on the suction cup and insert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap between the frame and back cover.

Slice Back Cover Adhesive
4 minSlide the plastic pick carefully around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the remaining adhesive.

Remove Back Cover
1 minLift the rear cover straight up and off the phone frame.

Unscrew Lower Frame Screws
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly.

Pry Off Loudspeaker Module
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the loudspeaker assembly and lift it out of the housing.

Disconnect Battery Flex Cable
1 minPry up the battery press connector on the mainboard using a plastic spudger to safely cut power.

2 minUse a spudger to gently pop off the main interconnect flex cable connector from the charging port daughterboard.

Disconnect Antenna Cables
2 minUse precision tweezers to lift and disconnect the coaxial antenna cables attached to the charging board.

Remove Daughterboard Screw
1 minRemove the single Phillips screw holding the charging port board to the inner frame.

Remove Charging Port Board
2 minPry under the edge of the charging port board with a spudger and remove it from the device.

Position New Charging Board
2 minAlign the replacement charging port board into the lower recess of the phone frame.

Secure Board Screw
1 minReinstall the Phillips screw to fix the new daughterboard securely to the frame.

Reconnect Antenna Cables
2 minSnap the coaxial antenna cables back onto their respective terminals on the new board using tweezers.

2 minAlign and press down on the main interconnect flex cable connector until it clicks into place.
