   Turn off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select power off to ensure the device is completely shut down.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the side of the device and push firmly to pop out the SIM tray.

   Heat the rear cover

   Apply heat using a heat gun or hair dryer along the edges of the back cover for 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach the suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and press firmly to secure a hold.

   Create an opening gap

   Pull up gently on the suction cup while pressing a plastic opening pick into the gap between the frame and back cover.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the plastic pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the remaining adhesive.

   Remove the back panel

   Lift the back cover away from the chassis carefully and place it aside on a clean surface.

   Unscrew the upper motherboard cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the top plastic motherboard shield.

   Remove the motherboard shield

   Use a spudger to gently pry up and detach the plastic motherboard shield from the chassis.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Insert the flat end of a plastic spudger under the battery connector and pop it straight up from the motherboard.

    Soften battery adhesive

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery.

    Pull the adhesive tabs

    Locate the stretch-release adhesive tabs at the base of the battery and slowly pull them out at a low angle.

    Pry out the old battery

    Insert a flat plastic spudger under the battery and carefully lever it up out of the recessed bay.

    Apply fresh adhesive strips

    Lay down new battery adhesive strips onto the bottom of the replacement battery and peel off the protective backing.

    Install the new battery

    Align the new battery in the frame bay and press down firmly to secure it to the chassis.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Align the battery flex connector over its socket on the motherboard and press down until it snaps into place.

    Reattach the motherboard shield

    Position the plastic motherboard shield back over the board and press down around the edges to seat it.

    Secure motherboard screws

    Reinstall the Phillips #00 screws into the motherboard shield until snug.

    Reapply rear cover adhesive

    Apply pre-cut adhesive tape along the perimeter of the phone chassis.

    Reseal the back cover

    Align the back cover over the phone body and press firmly along the edges to seal it closed.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Push the SIM card tray back into its slot until it sits flush with the outer frame.
