Step-by-step

Power off device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Eject SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole next to the card tray. Push firmly to pop the tray out, then remove it completely.

Heat back cover
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on a low setting to heat the outer edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel. Pull up gently to create a small gap between the panel and frame.

Slice back cover adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic prying pick into the gap and slide it along the perimeter to slice through the adhesive seal.

Remove back cover
2 minLift the back cover away from the chassis. Carefully set it aside.

Unscrew top frame cover
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper plastic motherboard shield.

Remove motherboard shield
2 minInsert a spudger under the motherboard shield and lift it off the frame to expose the logic board.

Disconnect battery cable
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up from its socket.

Disconnect display cable
1 minPry up the press connector for the display flex cable located on the middle section of the logic board.

Disconnect interconnect and antenna cables
2 minDisconnect the main interconnect flex cable and gently unsnap the coaxial antenna cables using tweezers.

Disconnect camera modules
2 minUnplug the front-facing and rear camera press connectors directly from the logic board.

Remove board retention screw
1 minUnscrew the single Phillips screw securing the logic board frame near the top edge.

Lift out logic board
2 minGently pry beneath the edges of the logic board with a spudger and lift it out of the phone housing.
