   Eject SIM Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the phone to eject the SIM tray. Remove the SIM tray completely from the device.

   Heat Back Cover

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the edges of the back cover for two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the rear panel to the frame.

   Apply Suction Cup

   Attach a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back cover. Pull gently on the ring to create a small gap between the glass panel and the frame.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Insert the point of a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Be careful not to slide the pick in too deep to avoid damaging internal components.

   Slice Rear Adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around all four sides of the phone to slice through the adhesive perimeter. Reapply heat if the pick encounters heavy resistance.

   Remove Back Cover

   Lift the rear glass cover away from the chassis. Set the back panel aside in a safe location.

   Unscrew Loudspeaker Housing

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the seven screws holding the lower speaker assembly in place. Store the screws safely for reassembly.

   Pry Out Loudspeaker Cover

   Insert the tip of a spudger beneath the edge of the speaker module. Pry gently upward to release the clips and remove the cover.

   Disconnect Sub-Board Interconnect Flex

   Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the main interconnect cable connector straight up from the sub-board. This disconnects the sub-board from the mainboard.

    Disconnect Antenna Coaxial Cable

    Grasp the antenna cable head using fine tweezers and gently lift it straight up from the sub-board socket. Do not pull on the wire itself.

    Remove Microphone Sub-Board

    Insert a flat opening tool under the edge of the sub-board containing the microphone. Gently pry up to break the underlying adhesive and lift the sub-board out.

    Transfer Microphone Gasket

    Use tweezers to carefully peel the tiny rubber microphone gasket off the old sub-board. Place the gasket firmly onto the microphone port of the replacement board.

    Install Replacement Sub-Board

    Position the new microphone sub-board into the lower housing of the frame. Press down firmly to seat it against the adhesive.

    Reconnect Antenna Cable

    Align the coaxial antenna connector over its socket on the new sub-board. Press down firmly with a spudger until it snaps into place.

    Reconnect Interconnect Flex

    Align the interconnect flex cable press connector over the socket on the sub-board. Press straight down until you feel a distinct click.

    Reinstall Loudspeaker Assembly

    Place the loudspeaker cover back over the bottom sub-board. Press around the edges until the plastic tabs clip into the frame.

    Secure Loudspeaker Screws

    Insert and tighten the seven Phillips screws securing the loudspeaker assembly to the lower frame.

    Apply New Perimeter Adhesive

    Clean remaining old adhesive off the frame using isopropyl alcohol. Place a pre-cut adhesive strip along the rim of the frame and peel off the protective backing.

    Reattach Back Cover

    Align the back cover with the phone body and press down firmly along all edges to seat the adhesive seal.
