   Power off the Moto G100

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off to turn off the phone completely before beginning.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the upper left side of the phone and remove the tray.

   Heat the rear glass panel

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer around the outer edges of the rear cover for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull up firmly to create a gap.

   Insert a plastic prying pick

   Slide a thin plastic prying tool into the gap between the rear cover and the frame.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Guide the plastic pick along all four edges of the phone to slice through the adhesive holding the back cover.

   Remove the rear panel

   Carefully lift the rear glass panel away from the chassis and place it on a clean work surface.

   Unscrew the top motherboard bracket

   Use a Phillips #000 precision screwdriver to remove all screws securing the upper plastic cover.

   Remove the motherboard bracket

   Use tweezers or a spudger to lift the top plastic midframe bracket up and off the phone.

    Unscrew the bottom loudspeaker module

    Remove the Phillips #000 screws holding the loudspeaker assembly at the lower end of the phone.

    Detach the loudspeaker housing

    Pry gently under the edge of the loudspeaker with a spudger and remove it from the device.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

    Disconnect the main interconnect cable

    Pry up the press connectors for the main extension cable spanning over the battery.

    Disconnect the display flex cable

    Unclip the remaining display ribbon cable from the motherboard to clear access over the battery.

    Unpeel the battery pull-tabs

    Locate and peel back the clear plastic adhesive tabs sticking out along the top and bottom of the battery.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol to adhesive

    Drip a few drops of high-purity isopropyl alcohol around the battery edges to weaken the glue.

    Pull the adhesive strips

    Pull the clear pull-tabs slowly at a flat, low angle until the adhesive stretch-release strips come out completely.

    Pry out the old battery

    Insert a wide plastic card or spudger under the battery edge and gently pry it out of the recess.

    Clean the battery compartment

    Wipe away any leftover adhesive residue inside the frame using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

    Apply fresh battery adhesive

    Position and adhere new double-sided battery tape into the battery well of the phone chassis.

    Set the new battery

    Align the replacement battery in the compartment and press down firmly across its surface to set the glue.

    Reconnect ribbon cables

    Snap the main interconnect and display flex cables back into their respective board connectors.

    Reconnect the battery press connector

    Press the battery cable connector straight down onto the motherboard socket until it clicks into place.

    Reinstall motherboard and speaker covers

    Place the top motherboard cover and bottom speaker module into position, then secure all Phillips screws.

    Reseal the back cover and insert SIM

    Apply new rear cover adhesive strips along the frame border, press the back glass down firmly, and reinsert the SIM tray.
