   Eject the SIM Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly inward to pop out the tray, then slide it out completely.

   Heat the Rear Plastic Cover

   Apply heat around the back cover edges with a heat gun or hair dryer for two minutes. This softens the perimeter adhesive and clip tension.

   Insert an Opening Pick

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the thin seam between the back cover and the frame near the bottom USB-C port.

   Unclip the Back Cover Edges

   Slide the pick along the bottom, side, and top edges to disengage the plastic retention clips. Work slowly around corners to avoid cracking the plastic frame.

   Angle Open the Back Cover

   Gently tilt the back cover open like a book from the right side. Do not pull the cover away yet, as the fingerprint reader cable is still attached.

   Unscrew the Motherboard Shield

   Remove the Phillips #00 screws securing the upper plastic motherboard shield. Store the screws together so they are not misplaced.

   Pry Up the Motherboard Shield

   Insert the flat end of a spudger underneath the edge of the motherboard shield. Pry upward gently to disengage it and lift it away.

   Disconnect the Fingerprint Reader Cable

   Use the pointed end of a spudger to pry the fingerprint reader flex connector straight up from the motherboard. Lift the back cover clear of the device.

   Disconnect the Battery

   Pry the battery press connector straight up off its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger. This cuts power to prevent electrical shorts.

    Unscrew the Speaker Assembly

    Remove the Phillips #00 screws securing the lower speaker housing at the bottom of the device.

    Remove the Lower Speaker Module

    Insert a spudger underneath the speaker enclosure and pry up to detach it from the phone body.

    Disconnect the Main Interconnect Flex Cable

    Pry up both ends of the main ribbon cable that connects the motherboard to the sub-board. Remove the ribbon cable completely.

    Soften the Battery Adhesive

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery well. Allow it to sit for two minutes.

    Pry Up the Battery

    Insert a wide plastic spudger or card under the lower edge of the battery. Slowly lever upward until the adhesive underneath breaks free.

    Lift Out the Old Battery

    Grasp the edges of the loosened battery and lift it out of the midframe chassis.

    Clean the Battery Well

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residue inside the frame using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

    Apply New Adhesive Strips

    Peel the protective backing off new battery adhesive strips and press them firmly onto the rear face of the replacement battery.

    Seat the Replacement Battery

    Lower the new battery into the chassis housing, aligning the connector with its motherboard socket. Press down firmly to adhere it.

    Reconnect the Interconnect Flex Cable

    Align and press both press fit ends of the main flex cable onto the sub-board and motherboard sockets until they click.

    Reconnect the Battery Cable

    Align the battery press connector over its motherboard terminal and press straight down until it snaps securely.

    Reinstall the Lower Speaker Module

    Position the lower speaker module over the sub-board and press down until it sits flush.

    Secure the Lower Speaker Module

    Reinstall and tighten all Phillips #00 screws to hold the lower speaker assembly in place.

    Reconnect the Fingerprint Sensor Cable

    Hold the back cover close to the phone frame and press the fingerprint sensor flex cable onto its motherboard socket.

    Reinstall the Motherboard Shield

    Place the top motherboard shield back into alignment over the upper components.

    Secure the Motherboard Shield

    Thread and tighten all Phillips #00 screws into the motherboard shield until snug.

    Snap On the Back Cover

    Align the plastic back cover with the edges of the phone frame and press around the perimeter until all clips snap into place.

    Reinsert the SIM Card Tray

    Insert the SIM card tray into its slot on the left edge of the phone until it sits flush with the frame.
