Power Off Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen.

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray to pop it out.

Heat Back Cover
2 minApply heat using a heat gun or hair dryer around the edges of the back cover for 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minAttach a suction cup to the lower section of the rear cover and pull gently to create a small gap.

Slice Rear Adhesive
3 minInsert an opening pick into the gap and slide it along all edges to separate the back cover adhesive.

Lift Off Rear Cover
2 minCarefully lift off the rear panel, taking care not to strain any internal flex cables.

Unscrew Midframe
3 minRemove the Phillips #000 screws securing the inner midframe assembly to the frame.

Pry Off Midframe
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the midframe seam and gently pop it loose from the frame clips.

Disconnect Battery Flex
1 minUse a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from the motherboard.

2 minSlide thin tweezers under the volume button flex ribbon to peel it away from the side chassis.

Extract Volume Button Covers
2 minPush the physical volume button covers inward from the outside to remove them from the chassis cutout.

Install New Volume Button Covers
2 minInsert the replacement volume button covers into the frame cutout until flush with the exterior.

Secure New Volume Flex Cable
2 minAlign the replacement volume button flex cable into its housing slot and press firmly to adhere.

Connect Volume Button Flex
1 minPress the volume flex cable connector straight down into its motherboard socket until it clicks.

Reconnect Battery Flex
1 minAlign and press down on the battery connector to restore power to the motherboard.

Reinstall Midframe
3 minSnap the plastic midframe back onto the housing and secure it with the saved Phillips #000 screws.

Reattach Back Cover
3 minApply fresh precut adhesive to the perimeter, press the back cover firmly onto the chassis, and reinsert the SIM tray.
