Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select power off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

Remove the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the side of the phone and press firmly until the tray pops out.

Heat the rear cover edges
2 minApply heat using a heat gun or hairdryer along the back panel edges for about 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup to rear panel
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back cover and press down to firmly secure it.

Slice rear cover adhesive
3 minPull up on the suction cup to create a gap, then insert an opening pick and slide it along the bottom edge.

Pry off rear cover
3 minContinue sliding the pick around all four edges of the phone frame, then carefully lift the rear cover off.

Remove lower loudspeaker screws
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the lower loudspeaker module.

Pry out speaker assembly
2 minInsert a flat plastic spudger under the loudspeaker module edge and gently pop it out of the frame.

Disconnect interconnect flex cable
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the main flex cable connector straight up from the sub-board.

Unclip coaxial antenna cable
2 minUse precision tweezers to carefully pry the antenna cable head up from its socket on the daughterboard.

Remove faulty microphone board
2 minLever the sub-board out of the frame using a plastic pry tool, taking care not to bend surrounding plastic.

Insert replacement microphone board
2 minAlign the new sub-board containing the primary microphone into the bottom socket of the chassis and press it down flat.

Reattach coaxial antenna cable
2 minAlign the coaxial connector over the port on the new sub-board and press down gently until it snaps into place.

Reconnect interconnect flex cable
1 minPress the flex cable connector firmly onto the new board socket until you feel a distinct click.

Reinstall speaker assembly
2 minSet the loudspeaker cover back into position over the sub-board and press down to seat it properly.

Secure speaker assembly screws
2 minDrive the Phillips #00 screws back into the loudspeaker housing until hand-tight.

Apply new adhesive strips
3 minClean remaining adhesive off the frame with isopropyl alcohol, then apply new double-sided adhesive strips along the perimeter.

Press rear cover into place
2 minAlign the back cover with the phone body and press firmly along the edges to seal the repair.
