   Eject the SIM Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the SIM tray on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly to pop the tray out, then pull it completely out of the device.

   Heat the Back Cover

   Apply gentle heat with an iOpener or heat gun around the edges of the back cover for two minutes. This softens the light perimeter adhesive and plastic retention clips.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Place a plastic opening pick into the seam between the back cover and the display frame near the bottom speaker cutouts.

   Unclip the Back Cover

   Slide the pick along the perimeter of the device to disengage the plastic clips holding the rear panel in place.

   Remove the Back Panel

   Lift the rear cover straight off the frame and set it aside safely.

   Unscrew Lower Speaker Assembly

   Use a PH00 screwdriver to remove the seven Phillips screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing.

   Pry Up Speaker Housing

   Insert a spudger beneath the edge of the lower speaker assembly and pry upwards to release it from the frame.

   Disconnect the Battery

   Use the edge of a spudger to pop the battery flex connector off its motherboard socket to prevent electrical shorts.

   Remove Old Loudspeaker

   Use tweezers to carefully lift the original speaker unit out from inside the lower housing shroud.

    Clean Speaker Contacts

    Dip a cotton swab in high-concentration isopropyl alcohol and gently wipe the metal contact pads on the daughterboard.

    Insert New Loudspeaker

    Set the new replacement speaker into the housing recess, pressing lightly to seat the gold contact springs.

    Reconnect the Battery

    Align the battery connector over its motherboard socket and press straight down until it snaps into place.

    Position Speaker Housing

    Align the lower speaker housing over the bottom of the device and press down firmly to snap it into the sub-frame.

    Fasten Speaker Screws

    Reinstall the seven Phillips screws into the lower housing until they are snug.

    Snap On Back Cover

    Align the back cover with the phone frame and press firmly along all edges until every clip snaps securely shut.

    Reinsert the SIM Tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left frame until it sits flush with the body.
