   Power off the Moto G04

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely shut down before starting.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly to eject the tray and remove it completely.

   Heat the rear cover

   Apply mild heat from a heat gun or hair dryer along the edges of the plastic rear cover for 2 minutes. This softens the internal adhesive strips.

   Slice through rear adhesive

   Place a suction cup on the back cover and pull gently to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening pick between the frame and back cover to slice through the adhesive.

   Detach the rear cover

   Work the opening pick along all four sides of the phone to unclip and free the rear cover. Carefully lift the rear cover off the phone and set it aside.

   Unscrew the bottom speaker assembly

   Use a precision Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower speaker enclosure over the daughterboard.

   Remove the speaker housing

   Insert a plastic pry tool under the edge of the speaker module and gently lift it out of the chassis.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Locate the battery connector under the mainboard shield and pry it straight up using a spudger to cut power to the device.

   Disconnect the flex interconnect cable

   Use a plastic spudger to disconnect the flex cable connector linking the daughterboard to the main motherboard.

    Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable

    Use tweezers to carefully lift the head of the coaxial antenna cable off its press socket on the lower daughterboard.

    Lift out the microphone daughterboard

    Gently insert a plastic opening pick beneath the daughterboard, which contains the microphone assembly, and pry it out of the frame.

    Set the new microphone daughterboard

    Align the replacement microphone daughterboard into the bottom recess of the phone frame and press gently until it sits flush.

    Reconnect the coaxial antenna cable

    Position the antenna cable connector over its mating socket on the new daughterboard and press down firmly until it snaps into place.

    Attach the flex interconnect cable

    Align the lower connector of the main interconnect flex cable over the socket on the new board and press down to snap it securely.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Press the battery flex cable connector straight down onto its motherboard socket until it clicks into position.

    Reinstall the speaker housing

    Place the lower speaker assembly back into position over the bottom module and press down softly.

    Secure the speaker screws

    Reinsert and tighten all Phillips screws that secure the bottom speaker assembly in place.

    Snap on the rear cover

    Align the rear cover over the phone body and press firmly around all edges until the plastic clips snap tightly into place.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the device until it sits flush with the frame.
