   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject pin into the pinhole on the side of the phone and push firmly to eject the tray. Pull the tray completely out of the device.

   Heat the rear panel edges

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the outer edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower third of the rear panel and press firmly to seal it. Pull up gently on the ring to create a slight gap near the edge.

   Insert a plastic opening pick

   Slide a plastic opening pick into the gap between the rear cover and the frame. Leave the pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

   Slice through the rear cover adhesive

   Slide opening picks carefully along all four sides of the phone to cut through the perimeter adhesive. Take extra care around the camera module bump.

   Lift and remove the back cover

   Gently lift the rear cover off the chassis and set it face down on a clean surface.

   Remove lower housing screws

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the lower loudspeaker and sub-board housing.

   Pry up the loudspeaker module

   Insert the flat end of a spudger beneath the edge of the lower speaker assembly and pry it gently upward to release the clips.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Locate the main battery flex connector on the motherboard and use a plastic spudger to pop it straight up from its socket.

    Disconnect the main interconnect cable

    Pry up the press connector for the main flex ribbon cable attached to the bottom daughterboard.

    Detach coaxial antenna cables

    Use fine tweezers to gently lift the coaxial antenna cable heads straight up from their connectors on the lower sub-board.

    Remove the microphone sub-board

    Slide a spudger beneath the edge of the bottom sub-board, which houses the primary microphone, and lift it out of the phone frame.

    Position the new microphone board

    Align the replacement sub-board into the lower recess of the phone frame and press it gently into place.

    Reconnect antenna cables and flex ribbon

    Snap the coaxial cables securely back onto their sub-board terminals, then press down the main interconnect flex connector until it clicks.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Align the battery press connector over its motherboard socket and press down firmly to re-engage power.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker cover

    Place the loudspeaker cover over the lower sub-board and press around the edges until it snaps flat into place.

    Fasten the lower housing screws

    Reinsert and tighten all Phillips #000 screws into the lower speaker housing.

    Apply new adhesive and attach back cover

    Place pre-cut adhesive tape along the perimeter of the phone frame, align the back cover, and press firmly along all edges to seal.
