   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the small pinhole near the top left side of the frame and pull the tray out.

   Heat the rear cover edges

   Apply a heated pad or heat gun on low power along the outer edges of the rear panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Press a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel to create leverage for opening.

   Insert an opening pick

   Pull up gently on the suction cup and slide a thin plastic opening pick into the seam under the back panel.

   Slice through perimeter adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around all four edges of the back panel to slice through the adhesive holding it to the frame.

   Lift away the back panel

   Carefully remove the rear panel from the device frame and clear away any remaining loose adhesive strips.

   Unscrew the top motherboard bracket

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the upper plastic cover frame.

   Remove the upper motherboard shield

   Insert the point of a spudger under the motherboard shield and lift it off the chassis.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use the flat edge of a spudger to pry the battery flex connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

    Disconnect the main display interconnect cable

    Pry up the flex cable connector overlapping the battery to clear a path for removal.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol around the battery

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol around the battery edges to weaken the adhesive underneath.

    Peel back the adhesive pull-tab

    Locate the battery adhesive pull-tab and peel it back carefully using flat tweezers.

    Pull out the stretch-release adhesive strips

    Pull the adhesive tabs out slowly at a low angle to stretch and remove the adhesive strips from under the battery.

    Pry the battery out of the frame

    Use a wide plastic card or spudger to gently lever the battery up and remove it from the housing.

    Install new battery adhesive

    Apply new double-sided battery adhesive strips directly into the recessed battery well.

    Place the replacement battery

    Align the replacement battery in the housing and press down firmly to secure it to the adhesive.

    Reconnect the interconnect and battery flex cables

    Align and press down on the display and battery cable connectors until you feel them snap into place.
