Step-by-step

Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely powered down before continuing.

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the side of the phone. Push firmly to pop out the tray and remove it.

Heat the rear panel

2 minGently pry the golden coaxial antenna connector off its post on the logic board using fine tweezers.

Remove the logic board retaining screw
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw holding the top left corner of the logic board to the phone body.

Lift out the logic board
2 minGently lever the logic board up from the top edge using a spudger and lift it out of the chassis frame.

Set the new logic board into place
2 minAlign the replacement logic board with the screw posts and cameras, then gently lower it into the frame.

Secure the logic board screw
1 minReinstall the single Phillips #00 retaining screw to secure the logic board firmly inside the chassis.

Reconnect antenna and ribbon cables
3 minSnap the coaxial antenna connector, main interconnect cable, display cable, and battery cable back into their respective sockets.
