Step-by-step

Power Off the Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Make sure the phone is completely shut down before beginning.

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert the SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left side of the device. Press firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it.

Heat the Back Cover
2 minApply heat to the edges of the rear panel using a heat gun or hair dryer on low for 1 to 2 minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the plastic back.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the lower section of the back cover near the USB port. Pull up gently to create a gap between the cover and frame.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Carefully slide it along the bottom edge to slice the adhesive bond.

Unclip Rear Cover Perimeter
3 minSlide plastic picks along the left, right, and top edges of the phone frame. Release all internal plastic retaining clips.

Partially Open the Back Cover
1 minGently swing open the back cover from the right side like a book cover. Do not pull the cover completely off yet because the fingerprint cable is connected.

Unscrew Fingerprint Bracket
1 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the single screw holding the fingerprint cable metal shield.

Remove Fingerprint Shield
1 minUse precision tweezers to lift away the small metal bracket covering the fingerprint sensor connector.

Disconnect Fingerprint Cable
2 minPry up the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector directly from the motherboard using the flat end of a spudger. Remove the back cover.

Remove Loudspeaker Screws
3 minUnscrew the seven Phillips #000 screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing over the charging daughterboard.

Remove Loudspeaker Module
2 minInsert a plastic spudger under the corner of the loudspeaker housing. Pry upward and remove the module from the frame.

Disconnect Interconnect Cable
1 minPry up the main interconnect ribbon cable connector from the charging port daughterboard using a spudger.

Disconnect Antenna Cable
2 minUse tweezers or a spudger tip to gently pry the coaxial antenna cable head off its socket on the daughterboard.

Remove Faulty Daughterboard
2 minPry underneath the charging port daughterboard gently using a spudger to loosen the light adhesive beneath it and remove it.

Seat New Daughterboard
2 minPosition the replacement charging port daughterboard into the chassis slot and press gently until it lays flat.

Reconnect Antenna Cable
2 minAlign the coaxial antenna cable head over the board connector and press down firmly until it snaps into place.

Reconnect Interconnect Cable
1 minAlign and press the interconnect ribbon connector straight down onto the daughterboard socket until you feel a soft snap.

Reinstall Loudspeaker Assembly
2 minPlace the loudspeaker housing back onto the lower section of the phone frame, making sure clips align.

Tighten Loudspeaker Screws
3 minReinstall and tighten the seven Phillips #000 screws to secure the loudspeaker module.

Reconnect Fingerprint Sensor Cable
2 minHold the rear panel close to the phone and press the fingerprint connector back onto the motherboard port.

Reinstall Fingerprint Bracket
2 minPlace the metal shield over the fingerprint connector and secure it with its single Phillips #000 screw.

Seal Back Cover
3 minAlign the back cover with the body frame and press firmly around all edges until the plastic clips click firmly shut.

Reinsert SIM Tray
1 minSlide the SIM tray into its slot until it sits completely flush against the outer frame.
