Step-by-step

Power off phone and remove SIM tray

Lift and remove rear panel

2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly to the frame.

Remove the loudspeaker housing
1 minInsert a spudger beneath the edge of the loudspeaker housing and lift it out of the phone.

Disconnect the main interconnect flex cable
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry straight up on the press-fit connector of the main interconnect cable on the bottom sub-board.

Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable
1 minUse fine tweezers to gently pry the RF coaxial antenna connector straight up off its socket on the sub-board.

Remove the microphone sub-board
2 minGently wedge a spudger under the sub-board containing the primary microphone and lift it out of the enclosure.

Set the new microphone sub-board in place
2 minPosition the replacement sub-board into the lower recess of the frame and press down firmly to set it.

Reconnect flex and antenna cables
2 minSnap the interconnect flex connector onto the sub-board and reattach the coaxial antenna connector with tweezers.

Reinstall loudspeaker cover and screws
2 minPlace the loudspeaker assembly back into position and secure it with the Phillips #00 screws.

Re-seal rear panel and reinsert SIM tray
3 minApply pre-cut adhesive strip around the chassis perimeter, press the rear panel onto the body, and reinsert the SIM tray.
