Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to turn off the device.

Remove SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left side of the frame and pull out the tray.

Heat Rear Cover
2 minApply heat around the perimeter of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

1 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull up firmly to create a gap.

2 minPush a plastic opening pick into the gap between the back cover and the midframe.

Slice Rear Adhesive
3 minSlide the pick continuously around all edges to slice through the perimeter adhesive.

Remove Rear Cover
2 minLift the rear cover away from the phone body and set it aside.

Unscrew Speaker Module
3 minRemove seven Phillips #00 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker cover.

Pry Out Speaker Module
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the speaker module and pry it out of the chassis.

Disconnect Interconnect Cable
2 minUse a spudger to pry the main flex cable connector straight up off the daughterboard.

Disconnect Antenna Cable
2 minGently pry up the white coaxial antenna cable connector from the sub-board using tweezers.

Remove Microphone Daughterboard
2 minPry the daughterboard housing the bottom microphone up from the frame recess.

Install New Microphone Daughterboard
2 minSet the new microphone sub-board into the frame recess and gently press it flat.

Reconnect Internal Cables
2 minAlign and snap the antenna cable and main interconnect ribbon connector onto the new sub-board.

Reinstall Speaker Module
3 minPlace the loudspeaker cover back into position and secure it with the seven Phillips screws.

Seal Rear Cover
3 minApply new adhesive tape along the perimeter edges and press the rear cover back onto the frame.
