Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the tray on the side of the device. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it completely.

2 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small seam between the back cover and the frame. Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap.
- 6
Slice through the adhesive
3 minSlide the pick continuously around all four edges of the phone to cut through the remaining adhesive tape.
- 7
Remove the back cover
1 minGently lift the rear cover off the phone body. Place it off to the side on a clean surface.
- 8
Unscrew the motherboard shield
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic upper motherboard frame.
- 9
Pry up the upper shield
2 minInsert the pointed end of a spudger under the motherboard shield. Carefully lever it upward to release the retention clips and remove the cover.
- 10
Disconnect the battery flex cable
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up off its socket using a plastic spudger. Disconnecting the battery prevents electrical shorts.

- 15
Remove the logic board retaining screw
1 minUnscrew the single Phillips screw fixing the logic board directly to the inner metal chassis.
