   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the tray on the side of the device. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it completely.

   Heat the back panel

   Apply heat around the perimeter of the back panel for two minutes using a heat gun or hair dryer. This softens the strong adhesive holding the rear panel.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel. Press down firmly to seal it against the plastic surface.

   Insert an opening pick

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a small seam between the back cover and the frame. Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap.

   Slice through the adhesive

   Slide the pick continuously around all four edges of the phone to cut through the remaining adhesive tape.

   Remove the back cover

   Gently lift the rear cover off the phone body. Place it off to the side on a clean surface.

   Unscrew the motherboard shield

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic upper motherboard frame.

   Pry up the upper shield

   Insert the pointed end of a spudger under the motherboard shield. Carefully lever it upward to release the retention clips and remove the cover.

    Disconnect the battery flex cable

    Pry the battery press connector straight up off its socket using a plastic spudger. Disconnecting the battery prevents electrical shorts.

    Disconnect the display flex cable

    Use the flat end of a spudger to detach the main display connector from the top logic board.

    Disconnect the interconnect cable

    Unplug the lower ribbon flex cable connecting the logic board to the charging port sub-board.

    Unplug the front camera

    Pry up the front-facing selfie camera flex connector and remove the camera module using precision tweezers.

    Disconnect the coaxial antenna cables

    Carefully pry the white and black antenna cable heads straight up off their metallic board terminals using tweezers.

    Remove the logic board retaining screw

    Unscrew the single Phillips screw fixing the logic board directly to the inner metal chassis.

    Pry out the logic board

    Insert a spudger beneath the bottom edge of the board. Gently lift and pull the logic board out from the phone chassis.
