   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the Power button on the right side. Tap Power Off on the screen to turn off the device completely.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the frame. Push firmly to pop the tray out and remove it.

   Heat the back cover

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer around the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower center of the rear cover. Pull upward firmly to create a small gap near the bottom edge.

   Insert a plastic pick

   Slide a plastic opening pick into the gap created between the rear panel and the phone frame.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick slowly around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the glue holding it in place.

   Remove the back cover

   Carefully lift the back cover straight off the frame and set it aside.

   Unscrew the upper shield

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic motherboard bracket.

   Detach the motherboard cover

   Pry up the edges of the upper motherboard shield with a spudger and lift it off the board.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery flex cable straight up from its connector.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol around the edges of the battery to weaken the underlying adhesive.

    Unseat the adhesive pull tabs

    Locate the clear adhesive pull-tab handles at the base of the battery and peel them back with tweezers.

    Pull out the adhesive strips

    Pull the adhesive tabs out slowly at a low angle until the stretch-release strips pull completely free from under the battery.

    Pry out the battery

    Insert a plastic opening card beneath the battery edge and gently lever it up out of the chassis recess.

    Clean the battery well

    Wipe away any remaining glue residue from the frame recess using a cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply fresh battery adhesive

    Peel the backing off new adhesive strips and lay them flat into the empty battery compartment.

    Install the new battery

    Lower the replacement battery into the frame and press down firmly across its surface to secure it.

    Attach the battery cable

    Align the battery flex connector over its motherboard socket and press down until it snaps into place.

    Position the motherboard cover

    Set the plastic upper shield back onto the mainboard, aligning it with the screw posts.

    Fasten the motherboard screws

    Reinstall and tighten the Phillips #00 screws to secure the top bracket in place.

    Apply back panel adhesive

    Place custom pre-cut adhesive strips or thin tape around the perimeter of the phone frame.

    Press the back cover closed

    Align the back cover over the rear of the phone and press down firmly along all edges to seat the seal.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left edge of the phone until flush.
