   Power off device

   Press and hold the power button on the right edge, then tap Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

   Eject SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left frame edge and press firmly to pop the tray out.

   Heat back cover edges

   Apply heat from a heat gun or hairdryer along the perimeter of the back panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Create opening gap

   Press a suction cup onto the lower back panel, pull upward, and slip a plastic opening pick into the seam.

   Unclip back panel

   Slide the opening pick around all four sides of the phone to unlatch the perimeter retaining clips.

   Disconnect fingerprint sensor

   Gently tilt open the back cover and use a flat spudger to disconnect the fingerprint sensor flex cable from the motherboard.

   Unscrew motherboard cover

   Remove the Phillips #00 screws securing the upper plastic motherboard shield.

    Pry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard using a plastic spudger to cut power.

    Use a spudger to lift and disconnect the main display flex cable from the motherboard socket.

    Heat screen perimeter

    Apply heat across the front screen edges for two to three minutes to break down the adhesive holding the glass.

    Attach suction cup to screen

    Secure a suction cup near the bottom of the front glass and pull upward to create a slight gap.

    Slice screen adhesive

    Insert an opening pick into the gap and slice along all edges of the front glass to cut through the display adhesive.

    Separate display assembly

    Lift the damaged display off the phone frame while guiding the attached flex cable through its frame slot.

    Clean frame channels

    Scrape remaining adhesive off the bezel using a spudger and clean the frame with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

    Apply replacement frame adhesive

    Lay pre-cut double-sided adhesive strips along the recessed ledge of the frame chassis.

    Route new display flex cable

    Thread the flex ribbon cable of the new screen assembly through the slot in the front frame chassis.

    Align the replacement screen precisely over the frame and press evenly along all edges to secure it.

    Reconnect display and battery flex cables

    Snap the display flex connector and battery connector firmly into their sockets on the motherboard.

    Reinstall internal covers

    Position the upper motherboard shield and bottom speaker housing back in place, then tighten all Phillips #00 screws.

    Reattach back cover

    Reconnect the fingerprint sensor cable, align the rear cover over the frame, and press until all clips snap flush.
