Step-by-step

Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button until the menu appears, then tap Power Off to safely shut down the device.

Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject pin into the hole on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it.

Insert Prying Tool into Back Cover
2 minInsert a plastic prying tool into the seam between the plastic back cover and the display frame near the SIM card slot.

Unclip Rear Cover
3 minSlide the plastic prying tool along the entire perimeter to release the plastic clips securing the back cover.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
2 minGently lift the back cover and use a spudger to disconnect the fingerprint reader flex cable from the motherboard.

Unscrew Motherboard Cover
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the upper motherboard shield.

1 minLift the plastic motherboard shield off the phone using tweezers or your fingers.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the bottom section of the screen and press firmly to create a seal.

Create Gap Under Glass
2 minPull up on the suction cup ring to create a slight gap between the glass screen and the middle frame.

Slice Screen Adhesive
4 minInsert an opening pick into the gap and slide it along all four edges to slice through the adhesive.

Remove Damaged Screen
2 minLift the screen away from the housing while carefully feeding the display flex cable through the slot in the frame.

Clean Frame Residue
3 minScrape off residual adhesive from the frame ledges using a spudger and clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol.

3 minLay down double-sided adhesive strips along the top, bottom, and side recess areas of the inner frame.
