Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly to eject the tray and pull it out.

Heat the rear cover
2 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

Slice the back panel adhesive
4 minInsert an opening pick under the seam between the back cover and frame, sliding it along the perimeter to slice through the glue.

Unclip the back cover
2 minGently lift the back cover off the chassis, taking care not to strain the attached fingerprint sensor flex cable.

Disconnect the fingerprint sensor
2 minUse a plastic spudger to pop the fingerprint reader connector straight up from the motherboard bracket.

Unscrew the upper motherboard shield
3 minRemove the nine Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic motherboard shield to the internal frame.

Remove the motherboard shield
1 minLift the upper motherboard shield up and out of the phone frame using tweezers or your fingers.

Disconnect the battery cable
1 minUse a spudger to pry the battery connector directly up off its motherboard socket to disconnect power.

Disconnect the display and interconnect flex cables
2 minPry up the display flex cable and the sub-board interconnect flex cable press connectors from the logic board.

Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable
2 minUse fine-tipped tweezers to carefully unsnap the antenna cable connector from its socket on the lower edge of the board.

Remove the rear camera module
2 minDisconnect the main camera flex connector and lift the camera module out of its recessed socket.

Unscrew the motherboard securing screw
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw holding the logic board to the inner frame.

Remove the logic board
2 minGently pry up the bottom edge of the logic board and lift it carefully out of the phone frame.

Install the new logic board
2 minLower the replacement logic board into position, aligning it with the locator pins and screw holes in the frame.
