Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely powered down before starting.

Remove the back cover
2 minInsert a plastic opening tool into the notch near the micro-USB port. Pry gently to unclip and remove the rear shell.

Eject the SIM tray

Remove the old speaker
2 minUse precision tweezers to lift the loudspeaker assembly out of its recessed bay at the bottom of the frame.

Clean the contact pads
2 minDampen a microfiber cloth with isopropyl alcohol and wipe the gold motherboard contacts. Make sure no dust or residue remains.

Insert the new speaker
2 minPlace the replacement speaker module into the housing recess. Ensure the spring contacts align with the motherboard contacts.

Reconnect the battery
1 minAlign the battery press-connector over its motherboard socket. Press down firmly until it clicks into place.

Position the inner frame
2 minLower the inner plastic midframe onto the device body, aligning the camera and screw holes properly.

Snap the midframe shut
2 minPress firmly along all edges of the frame until every retention clip snaps securely into place.

Reinstall the midframe screws
4 minInsert and tighten all fourteen Torx T3 screws around the midframe until snug.

Reinsert the SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the device until flush with the body.

Attach the back cover
2 minAlign the outer back cover over the phone. Press down around all perimeter edges until it completely snaps on.
