   Power down the device

   Press and hold the power button until the power options menu appears, then tap Power Off. Ensure the screen turns off completely before continuing.

   Pry off the outer back cover

   Insert a plastic opening tool into the notch at the bottom edge near the micro-USB port. Carefully pry upward to release the plastic clips securing the outer cover.

   Remove the outer cover

   Lift the outer cover away from the phone chassis and set it aside. Inspect the edges to ensure no plastic retaining clips broke off.

   Remove the micro-SIM card

   Push gently against the SIM card to unlatch it from its slot on the upper right side of the device. Slide the card completely out of the phone.

   Peel off the screw cover sticker

   Use tweezers to carefully lift and remove the small circular paper sticker hiding the top-center screw. Store it in a safe place for reassembly.

   Unscrew the fourteen Torx T3 screws

   Use a Torx T3 precision screwdriver to remove all fourteen screws securing the inner plastic midframe. Keep track of the screws as you remove them.

   Unsnap the inner midframe bezel

   Insert a flat plastic spudger into the seam between the inner plastic frame and the front display assembly. Gently pry along the perimeter to unsnap the clips.

   Remove the inner frame cover

   Lift the inner plastic frame straight off the device to expose the battery and motherboard assembly. Be careful around the exposed side button flex cables.

   Disconnect the battery flex cable

   Use the flat edge of a plastic spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket. Do not pry against motherboard components.

    Warm the battery adhesive

    Apply mild heat from a hair dryer or heat gun to the back of the battery enclosure for about 30 seconds. This softens the strong factory adhesive beneath the battery.

    Pry out the original battery

    Insert a plastic opening card under the lower edge of the battery. Slowly slide it beneath the cell to separate the battery from the phone housing.

    Clean the battery compartment

    Apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol to a lint-free cloth and wipe away remaining adhesive residue. Ensure the housing area is clean and dry.

    Install new adhesive strips

    Peel the backing off new double-sided adhesive strips and press them firmly into the battery recess. Remove the protective top liner.

    Position the replacement battery

    Align the replacement battery over the compartment, ensuring the cable connector faces the motherboard terminal. Press the battery firmly into place.

    Attach the battery connector

    Align the battery flex connector over its socket on the motherboard. Press straight down firmly until it clicks securely into place.

    Reinstall the inner midframe

    Place the inner midframe cover over the phone body. Press around the perimeter until all plastic clips snap shut.

    Fasten the fourteen Torx screws

    Insert and tighten all fourteen Torx T3 screws into the inner midframe using your screwdriver. Place the paper sticker back over the top screw.

    Reattach the outer rear cover

    Reinsert your SIM card into its slot. Snap the outer rear cover back onto the phone, pressing firmly along all edges until fully seated.
