Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen.

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole beside the tray on the left side of the frame and push firmly until the tray pops out.

Heat the rear cover
2 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the outer edges of the rear plastic cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Insert an opening pick
2 minAttach a suction cup to the lower back cover, pull up gently, and insert a plastic opening pick into the gap near the bottom.

Slice the rear cover adhesive

2 minPlace the new speaker into the housing enclosure, pressing down gently until it sits flush against the contact pins.

Reposition the loudspeaker assembly
1 minAlign the loudspeaker assembly back over the bottom section of the phone frame and press it into place.

Secure the housing screws
3 minReinstall and tighten the six Phillips #00 screws to hold the loudspeaker assembly firmly in place.

Reconnect the fingerprint sensor
2 minAlign the fingerprint ribbon cable connector over its motherboard socket and press down firmly until it snaps into place.

Apply new back cover adhesive
3 minClean the old adhesive residue off the frame perimeter using isopropyl alcohol, then apply new double-sided adhesive strips.

Press the rear cover shut
2 minAlign the rear cover with the frame and press firmly along all outer edges to set the new adhesive.

Reinsert the SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM tray back into its slot on the left frame until it sits flush with the body.
