Step-by-step

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left side of the device to pop out the SIM and microSD card tray. Remove the tray completely.

Heat Rear Panel
2 minApply heat with a hair dryer or heat gun evenly around the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear panel and pull upward firmly to create a gap between the cover and frame.

Insert Plastic Pick
1 minSlide an opening pick or plastic prying tool into the seam created by the suction cup.

2 minSlide fine tweezers beneath the volume button flex array to carefully peel the cable off the side chassis.

Remove Physical Buttons
2 minUnclip the metal retaining bracket holding the volume rocker key inside the frame and push the physical buttons out.

Position Replacement Flex
3 minInsert the new volume buttons into the housing slot, secure the metal bracket, and adhere the new flex cable flush against the frame.

Secure Volume Connector
1 minPress the volume button flex connector directly down onto the motherboard until it clicks into place.
