   Remove SIM Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge. Eject and remove the SIM card tray completely.

   Heat Rear Cover

   Use a heat gun or hairdryer to warm the outer edges of the back cover for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the rear panel to the frame.

   Slice Rear Adhesive

   Place a suction cup on the lower back cover and pull upward to create a small gap. Insert an opening pick into the seam and slide it around the perimeter to cut the adhesive.

   Disconnect Fingerprint Reader

   Pivot the rear cover open carefully along the right edge to avoid straining the flex cable. Use a spudger to pop the fingerprint reader connector off the motherboard.

   Unscrew Motherboard Cover

   Remove the eleven Phillips #00 screws holding down the upper plastic motherboard cover. Organize the screws in a tray so they can be reinstalled in their original locations.

    Apply heat around the perimeter of the front glass display using a heat gun for 3 minutes. Ensure the edges are hot to loosen the screen adhesive.

    Separate Display Assembly

    Attach a suction cup near the top edge of the glass display and pull gently to create a gap. Work a thin plastic opening pick into the gap between the glass and the frame.

    Slice Screen Adhesive

    Slide the pick around all four edges of the screen panel to cut the perimeter adhesive strip. Take care not to push the pick too deep into the lower cable routing area.

    Lift Off Damaged Screen

    Guide the display flex cable through the slot in the midframe while lifting the screen away. Remove the damaged display assembly from the chassis.

    Clean Frame Perimeter

    Scrape away all old adhesive and residual glass splinters from the frame perimeter using a spudger and isopropyl alcohol. Clean the mating surface thoroughly to ensure the new panel fits flush.

    Apply Display Adhesive

    Lay pre-cut double-sided adhesive strips along the internal ledge of the phone frame. Press the strips firmly into place and peel off the backing liner.

    Position New Screen

    Thread the display flex cable through the frame slot. Align the top and bottom edges of the new display assembly, then press it firmly into the frame housing.

    Reconnect Cable Connectors

    Press the display cable connector firmly into its motherboard socket until it snaps into place. Reconnect the battery flex cable press-connector to restore board power.

    Reinstall Sub-assemblies

    Seat the bottom loudspeaker module into place and secure its screws. Reinstall the upper motherboard shield and tighten all top screws.

    Seal Rear Panel

    Snap the fingerprint sensor cable onto the motherboard, then press the back cover firmly onto the frame to seal it. Reinsert the SIM tray into the side slot.
