   Shut down the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely powered down before starting.

   Remove the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly to eject the tray and pull it completely out.

   Heat the rear panel

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the edges of the back cover for two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the panel to the frame.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower third of the rear panel. Press down firmly to create a tight seal against the surface.

   Create an opening gap

   Pull upward on the suction cup to lift the rear cover slightly. Insert the tip of an opening pick into the gap created at the bottom seam.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around the entire perimeter of the back cover to cut through the remaining adhesive. Keep the pick shallow to protect internal flex cables.

   Lift off the back cover

   Gently lift the back cover straight off the phone frame. Set the panel aside on a clean work surface.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery flex connector straight up from the motherboard. Disconnecting power prevents short circuits while working.

   Unscrew the loudspeaker module

   Remove the Phillips #00 screws securing the lower speaker enclosure to the phone frame. Store the screws together safely.

    Pry out the loudspeaker

    Insert a spudger under the designated pry notch on the loudspeaker housing. Gently pry up to unclip the module from the frame.

    Clean the contact spring pads

    Wipe the exposed metallic contact pads on the daughterboard using a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Allow the contacts to air dry.

    Install the new loudspeaker

    Align the replacement speaker assembly into the lower chassis. Press down evenly until the housing snaps flush into place.

    Secure the speaker screws

    Reinstall and tighten the Phillips #00 screws into the loudspeaker module. Ensure each screw is snug without overtightening.

    Reconnect the battery press connector

    Align the battery flex cable over its motherboard socket and press down firmly until you hear a clear click.

    Reattach the rear panel

    Apply fresh precut adhesive strips to the edges of the chassis. Align the back cover and press along the perimeter to seal the device.
