   Power Down Device

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Heat Rear Shell

   Apply heat using a heat gun set to low along the edges of the back cover for two minutes. This softens the factory adhesive securing the panel.

   Apply Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel. Press down firmly to create a tight vacuum seal.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Pull gently on the suction cup handle while inserting a plastic opening pick into the gap created at the bottom edge. Do not insert the pick deeper than 3 mm.

   Slice Rear Adhesive

   Slide the plastic pick around all four edges of the back panel to slice through the adhesive seal. Reapply heat if the pick begins to drag.

   Remove Back Panel

   Carefully lift the rear cover off the frame and set it aside. Clean off any residual adhesive strips from the frame perimeter.

   Unscrew Upper Midframe

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the upper protective midframe. Store screws in a magnetic tray.

   Pry Off Upper Midframe

   Insert a spudger under the edge of the upper midframe and gently pry it upward to detach it. Set the midframe aside.

   Disconnect Battery Cable

   Use a plastic spudger to pop the battery flex connector straight up from its socket on the motherboard. This prevents electrical shorts during repair.

    Unscrew Speaker Box

    Remove the Phillips screws holding down the lower speaker assembly over the daughterboard. Keep these screws separate from the upper midframe screws.

    Lift Out Speaker Box

    Wedge the flat end of a spudger beneath the loudspeaker housing and lift it straight out. Set the module aside.

    Disconnect Main Flex Cable

    Pry up the lower end of the main interconnect flex cable connecting the daughterboard to the mainboard. Bend the cable back slightly out of the way.

    Disconnect Antenna Cable

    Use precision tweezers to carefully pop the coaxial antenna cable connector off the daughterboard socket. Pull straight up to avoid damaging the pin.

    Remove Daughterboard

    Pry the sub-board gently out of its housing inside the phone frame using a plastic pry tool. Be careful not to force the board.

    Apply Flux to USB Port

    Apply a small dab of soldering flux over the anchor pins and electrical contacts of the damaged USB-C port. This aids heat transfer and solder flow.

    Desolder Old USB Port

    Heat the anchor pads and data pins with a soldering iron while using desoldering braid to wick away existing solder. Lift away the damaged port once free.

    Solder New USB Port

    Align the replacement USB-C port onto the daughterboard pads. Apply a small amount of solder to each pin and anchor pad to secure it solidly.

    Reseat Daughterboard

    Place the repaired daughterboard back into its recess at the bottom of the frame. Press down lightly until it sits flush.

    Reconnect Cable Connectors

    Snap the coaxial antenna cable onto its sub-board socket using tweezers, then press the main interconnect flex connector into place.

    Secure Speaker Box

    Position the lower speaker housing over the daughterboard assembly. Drive in the saved Phillips screws until snug.

    Reconnect Battery

    Align the battery press connector over its socket on the main motherboard and press firmly down until it clicks.

    Reinstall Upper Midframe

    Place the upper midframe back onto the top motherboard section and secure it with its Phillips screws.

    Apply Back Cover Seal

    Apply fresh double-sided adhesive strips or pre-cut adhesive lining around the perimeter of the phone frame.

    Press Back Panel Closed

    Align the back cover over the frame and press down firmly around all edges to seat the adhesive seal.
